That definitely sums up the life of having a little one,and trying to be a great wife and mom! I have a 23 month old, and he's a handful. Keep snuggling, holding, and doing whatever else you feel you need to do as he grows. My soon-to-be 2 year old still gets rocked to sleep at night to get him to sleep. And as you've said, it's not so much for him, but for me. They grow sooo fast, and time seems like it speeds away in the blink of an eye.
