Weekend Fun & My Fishing Experience

It’s always great to just hang out and relax with friends; so that's what we did...

Saturday we went over to The Heard’s house and made fajitas and watched the Nascar race (well the guys mostly watched it, us girls hung out in the kitchen cooking ) After the race was over Zach and James went to Walmart to get some fishing equipment that we needed for the next day while Ashley and I cleaned up…when the guys got back they surprised us with PINK fishing poles. We were so excited! I haven’t been fishing since around the 5th grade and I was really looking forward to catching some fish the next day!!!!

The next day we did some errands, cleaned up the house then headed to meet The Heard’s so we could go fishing. This place was BEAUTIFUL! The scenery was amazing; we watched the sunset and just sat back and relaxed!!! Ashley was the first to catch a fish! After a couple hours I began to wonder if I was going to catch anything...keep in mind now I am “not” paying attention to my pole, I’m shoving my face with a hot dog (which was delicious might I add) and just watching little Miss Avery (Ashley’s daughter) throw her little fishing pole in over and over again and pull up her “Big Fish” (a little plastic fish that was attached to the end of it, she would get so excited every time she pulled it up; telling us all “I caught a big fish!”)…well I hear someone say “Tiffany your line is bouncing…” Oh crap what do I do?! Was my first thought…followed by my first words of shear panic calling out to someone to please “hold my hot dog!!!” Thankfully Ammie grabbed my hot dog and everyone was watching me reel in this “FISH”. Can I tell you how excited I was to have caught a “fish”…I haven’t been fishing since grade school… I really thought my fishing pole was going to break in half because it was bent all the way down, this “so-called huge fish” ended up being a HUGE TURTLE!!! Leave it up to me to catch a “turtle”!!! When the sun went down we made smores (my favorite thing about being around a campfire is this!!!!). Shortly after we headed home due to all having to work the next day! It was so beautiful out there and I can’t wait to spend more summer days out there!!!

Here are some of the pictures that I captured!

OMG...you had me rolling when you talked about asking someone to hold your hot dog!!! That's hilarious. I was cracking up even more when I read the part about catching a turtle, LOL!

Sounds like you guys had a blast. My hubby would die with excitement if I went fishing with him or did anything OUTSIDE with him for that matter. I'm so bad with outdoorsey stuff!

Love the pics, they were all great!!!

Pink fishing pole or not... I am NOT a fishing girl!!!!! I may be country, I may be southern but unless I am standing up to my waist in the surf of Pensacola you will NOT find me with a pole in my hand! LOL

Kudos to you!
