Needing Prayers for Poppee

As some know, Poppee (Zach’s grandfather), hasn’t been doing the greatest throughout the past few months. Zach and I even flew short noticed back in April when we were told he didn’t have much longer. However he pulled through and proved us all wrong. He was not ready to go home.

However it’s looking as though he will be going home shortly. He has yellow jaundice and his kidneys and liver are not doing too well. He recently told Zach’s mom that he is ready to see Mommoe (his wife whom passed away when Zach was little). They have been told it’s only a matter of time. My sister in law asked if he would make it until Saturday and she was told that he might not.

We all know that this is something Poppee wants, going ‘home’ that is. He is ready to see his wife and we know this will mean he will be pain free and happy again. However, it’s never easy to lose a loved one…esp. one that is so far away. It’s hard for Zach because his family lives in PA, while were way down in TX.

Sometimes I take advantage of the fact I live so close to mine, they are pretty much all right down the road incase anything happens to anyone of them…his family on the other hand all lives in PA (except for his brother whom just moved back to TX). I lost my grandfather almost 5 years ago, I can’t phantom not being by his side every moment that I could; however Zachary can’t be by his side right now. Although Zach appears to be taking this news somewhat ok, I know he is devastated that he can’t be there for Poppee--I know he is just trying to protect me from stressing (as well as my sweet sister in law who was hesitant to give me this news).

Please keep Zach’s family in your prayers right now. His family knows this is the best thing, but there will be weak moments that come with there strong moments-so please pray that God keeps them all strong throughout this. If you could also pray for Poppee I would appreciate it. I want him to be comfortable when God calls him home.

Your family and Poppee are definitely in my prayers. This is definitely a difficult time. I lost my grandmother, grandfather, and aunt all around the same time & while I know they're happy in heaven it's hard not having them around.

I saw you had left a sweet comment on my blog a couple months ago and I am now following yours-thanks for the comment! I am so sorry about Poppee. I lost my Grandpa 2 years ago and I still miss him so much. However, a few months after my Grandma went home to Heaven, my Grandpa chose to give himself to the Lord and was baptized. He was so very dedicated to the Lord for his last few years and that gives me such comfort to know I will see him again along with my Grandma.
I will be praying for Poppee, your husband, you and the rest of your family for comfort during this time. God Bless you all!

I'm so sorry to hear this news. I know Zach must be having a hard time, but I'm glad that Poppee seems at peace. He will be going to a better place & I pray for strength for the entire Pifer Family to deal with this. Love ya'll!

I will be praying for ya'll. I lost my papa last fall & it was so hard for me to live so far away from him. Sometimes I think it was better for me not to see him in his last days & to just remember him the way he was during my last trip to see him. As I think you know, after trying for 2 1/2 years to get pregnant, we are now pregnant with a baby boy. He will have my papa's name as a middle name - "Coleman" :)

Praying for Zach as he is miles away as I will pray for all the family. I am especially praying for Poppee not to not be in any pain. This brings tears to my eyes as I remember all the wonderful pics you and Zach took with him earlier this year.

Love ya & following your progress as well.

That's really sad news. I do pray Zach's grandfather will be in peace & Zach will get through this-whatever this may end up being.

My prayers are with your family!!!

I wanted to let you know that your pictures aren't showing up. I had the same issue with photobucket a few months ago and switched all of my pictures to another photohosting site because they wouldn't give me public access to my pictures.
