Big Deal in TX

What is up with this Texas weather…we have had more snow within the past couple months than we have had my entire life! If you don’t know already, Texas doesn’t normally participate in the season most call ‘winter’…The low in TX normally consist of ‘maybe’..‘MAYBE’ a week of 35, very rarely do we see anything below that…last Christmas my whole family had short sleeve shirts on. So snow in TX, multiple times, is a big deal!!

My co-workers and I ran outside several times to play in the snow…other states would laugh at the fact of our whole town closing down due to a few inches of snow, but most everything is closed. I know when I was up in PA when they had a couple feet, everything was opened…but TX drivers are not used to driving in this, me being one of them! So, I was one who left early so I could drive 10 miles an hour home to play in this BEAUTIFUL snow!!!

Only in TX can you go from 78 degree sunny and beautiful day to 35 degree and inches of snow!! Love-Love-Love it!!!

Here are a few pics from the day:

Our yard...

Ginger wasn't a big fan of the snow...

Look at that look on her face...she's saying 'Mom--PLEASE take me in now!'

Peanut stayed on the 'doggy path'...she didn't like to stand in the snow either!

Sasha, her look is pretty pathetic also; after being in the snow all day long
she was ready to come inside...

We get snow in Oklahoma and we still have to close things down sometimes. Last time it snowed our dog was excited and Bailey LOVES to make snow angels :)

I live in the snowbelt (dead smack in the middle of the worst of the worst) in Ohio. On average, we get 106" of snow each winter. That's almost 9 feet! BUT...we are used to it. My son loves it because he snowboards. :)

I lived in NC (near the coast) for 3 years. I remember they got a "dusting" of snow and the entire town and base shut down. I was all excited to go home early and drove regular speed while every one else was pulled over out of fear to drive in it. haha

Thanks for posting pics. Sorry your dogs didn't like it. Our dogs love the snow. :)

The snow was suppose to be coming our way. It did not. Thank you, Lord!
Tired of snow! Tired of cold weather! Ready for flip flops and sun dresses!

I'm ready for the summer also...but when TX gives you snow (esp. like this) most people (like me) will pass up the summer for a day filled with lots of snow; now the sun is out today and it's all melting...but still cold; now I'm wishing for summer again! HA!

OH MY, I could NOT imagine 9 feet of snow! How awesome!!!! My mother in law thinks I'm insane for loving snow the way I do, but when you never get it it makes it exciting; she on the other hand is tired of it! I really thought two of my doggies would like the snow, but nope! haha...

Your doggies are so adorable!! This weather has been crazy for TX! We got snow at the beginning of December here in Houston and that was insane! And for it to be the 2nd year in a row to get snow, broke a record! But, we didn't get any snow this time around. It is funny how everything shuts down though! Wouldn't you know that my kids had a half day when it did snow, and by the time they got home it was melted! :(

Nope, not only in Texas. Here in Tennessee if they even forecast snow we shut everything down. The kids love it. We have gotten a lot more snow than normal too!! My mom said it was something about the El Nino sending a lot of moisture in and it's cousin from the North sending in cold air causing what would otherwise be rain to be snow!! Last year however we did get one good snow. Ended up with 8 inches. It was awesome!!!

Our Dallas area, about 2 hours away, had close to 8 inches about a week ago...we recieved around 3 at my house....I would love for it to snow-snow here; I just love it!

HAHA! That sounds about right! The roads here were fine, but everything was shut down and even delayed this morning...I'm loving our TX snow!

Hey, this post wasn't on my dashboard, so I just discovered it. I LOVE the ooks on your doggies faces. Especially Sasha. It honestly looks like the front of a card. Priceless. Glad you enjoyed the snow!
