Why We Appreciate Infertility

I received a very opinionated email the other day asking me ‘why we appreciate infertility’.

Without obstacles you can’t grow! I personally am very grateful for every obstacle that I’ve had to face as its helped God to mold me into a person I’ve never thought was possible, I’ve learned more about myself as well as grown closer to God and my husband!

Don’t get me wrong, I am not so naïve to think struggles or infertility is ‘easy’; in fact infertility is one of the hardest paths I’ve ever been down; I’ve had to rely on my faith more than ever; I’ve had to understand that I can not change this situation—I’ve spent years, months and days concentrating on taking the good out of the bad and that’s how I’m able to be so positive at times—for that I’m grateful!

Due to the struggles in life, I’m able to live a more fulfilling life than before my experience with infertility. I’m grateful for the ability to help others and for the many people who have helped and supported my husband and I throughout this journey.

Where there is a struggle, there is life and for that I have to be grateful…I thank God for giving me the chance to live, love and laugh another day; I look at the world and see so much hurt, pain and suffering and although at times it’s hard to be positive, looking out knowing there are so many other people who have it so much worse than my husband and I has helped me learn to appreciate the journey we are on…

Zach and I will get through this journey, it’s a path God choose for us to build us into the people he wants us to be, and we accept this and appreciate the fact that God trust us with this journey! Infertility is a very trying path…I never in a million years would have choose this journey for my husband and I, nor would I have thought we could have handled this, however God choose it for us and I’ve learned to appreciate this journey due to who we have become throughout this.

I am so glad you can see it from that point of view. I know others aren't so positive down the path they have been given for ANY situation not just infertility. You and Z are amazing

In order to get through any of life's obstacles, you have to change your attitude. Does anyone WANT to struggle? No, but if you have to, choose the right attitude to get you through it.

When people ask, "Why me?" concerning their struggles, I think, "Why NOT me?" Why would I think that my life would go smoothly from start to finish, but everyone else hits roadblocks. That's not realistic.

All I know is that NO MATTER WHAT the challenges are, GOD IS THERE WITH ME. He is not surprised. Or confused. He knows what is best for me, even though I can't see beyond the next bend in the road.

This one brought me to tears a little. I'm emotional today :) I love your positive outlook on infertility. Not many people can do that. Life brings many struggles and to deal with them head on and with the help of God is truly amazing! Love ya'll!

Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog today! Your post today is so honest and raw - thank you for sharing! I will also be praying for you and your hubby along this journey. The twists and turns may throw us 'off course' - but they are not considered 'twists and turns' to God b/c our life events were planned way long ago! Keep up the positivity and optimism - God Bless!

Struggles can make us stronger. Looking back now I am slightly thankful in a way for our struggle, don't get me wrong, it was torture and cost us a pretty penny, but now I am a stronger woman, a better Mother, and a better wife. I know what pain is and I know what pure joy is and I am thankful for the journey we were put on. I think of you often and hope the very best for you.

Tiffany,

I'm so glad to have discovered your site! There are too few people sharing a Christian perspective on the infertility journey. I hope you won't mind if I forward a link to the many couples I know and work with who are struggling with infertility, and to those who follow my blog (PregnantWithHope.wordpress.com). God is faithful to His word and He promises, "Do not fear; I will help you." Looking forward to hearing the great news that you are parents one day!

blessings always,
Susan

Tiffany,

Thanks for the sweet comment. I've actually commented on your blog a few times before and have been a follower for a while. Any time I find an infertility sister, who also sees the blessing in the hardship, I tend to kind of get attached! LOL! I'm sure you understand completely what I mean. Anyway, just wanted to say "thanks" for the comment and especially for the prayers.
